People always ask me, “Prabhsimrat, how do you find it so easy to write? I’ve been trying to write my book for years, but I can never really finish it. How did you do it in 50 days?”
And while my ego would love to boast about my efforts by creating a story about how hard it was to write and publish a book in 50 days, that’s just not true.
Because it was not hard for me to do.
It was effortless.
Not in the sense that I didn’t have to act for it. I absolutely had to. But there was no resistance to those actions. I was just flowing from one step to the next like a river to the sea.
And that lack of resistance made it effortless.
I’m talking about this today because when I woke up, I realized I’ll be writing the 50th edition of Confusion to Clarity. We started exactly on January 1st, 2025, and every single week, I ensured that a new email with some new insights reached your inbox.
And without realizing it, I wrote a whole book this year. All I had to do was show up for an hour every week and send out an email! And all these weeks, showing up, writing, improving, everything felt effortless.
Because there was no resistance.
Today, I want to help you get to that state of no resistance so that no matter what your goals are, or how many actions you need to take, your mind will no longer create extra barriers, and things will start aligning better than ever before.
Climbing to success is old school now. It’s time to glide to it instead.
The Real Hard Problem:
The biggest reason people feel success is hard is not that the actions they must take in life are too difficult.
If that were the case, everything in life would be hard.
Think about it. How many things do you do to just get ready for your day?
- You wake up.
- You get out of bed.
- You make your bed.
- You go to the toilet to relieve yourself.
- You freshen up, take a bath, and brush your teeth.
- You make a cup of tea or coffee.
- You eat your breakfast.
- You catch up on the news.
- You go on social media on your phone.
- You message the people you made plans with.
- Then you decide what to wear.
- You choose the clothes.
- You try them out.
- You don’t like them.
- You choose another set.
- You like that.
- You try it.
- You confirm your choice.
- And then you begin the whole cycle for shoes, accessories, and a hundred other tiny steps, which ultimately fulfill all your conditions, and then you step outside for your plans.
If we look at it that way, something that feels so easy to all of us can easily get overwhelming. But it doesn’t. This example just proved that doing hard things is actually easy for us, because even after getting ready, we do a 100 other things that are much more complex.
So, asking ourselves the question, “This is really hard. Can I do it?” is actually wrong. That question won’t give us clarity.
Instead, we must ask, “What’s making me feel that this is hard?”
Now the real conversation starts.
Answering The Question:
Your thoughts are where true change begins.
So when you think about your goal, the scary and daunting ambitions you have, ask yourself, “What’s making me feel this fear? Why am I so worried?”
I know, these might seem like basic questions, but ask them sincerely, and you’ll be surprised by the answers you get.
Because this is what they’ll sound like:
“I don’t want to fail.”
“What if this doesn’t work?”
“What would people say?”
“I’m worried I’m going to be called stupid.”
“What if I’m making the wrong choice?”
“What if I do everything and people don’t like it?”
“What if I write the book and it doesn’t sell?”
“What if I launch the app and no one downloads?”
“What if I make the presentation, but my boss hates it?”
“What if…What if…What if…”
The action isn’t even that hard.
This resistance is making you feel it’s hard.
But the moment you let go of it, you start…
Gliding to Success:
Our mind works in funny, mysterious ways.
The more you let the negative thoughts continue, the stronger they get. The more you fear them, the more they scare you. The more you ignore them, the louder they get.
And action becomes the scariest thing ever.
But it’s easy to change that.
Instead of running away from these thoughts, face them.
Yes, seriously, sit with them like a friend.
And ask yourself, “If this really came true, what would actually happen?”
Don’t let your mind run into the vague fears. Force it to give you specific details. Write them down if you want to.
It may take you 30 minutes, an hour, or maybe a couple of them. But once you actually do this with yourself and all these pesky little fears, you’ll come to this truth:
“It’s not actually as bad as I thought!”
Because specificity is the enemy of fear. The more details you have, the more your mind knows. The easiest way to get rid of your fear of darkness is to just turn on the light. That’s exactly what we do when we get specific.
And once that internal resistance is down, your mind feels that it is safe and easy to take action.
You will become the best action taker you know. Things will feel effortless. Showing up will be easy. Dealing with roadblocks won’t take long. And procrastination? It will be an old friend who visits sometimes, but never stays.
Because you let go of the biggest barrier in your journey: your own resistance.
And that’s important because everything you want in life is easy to get if you just make it safe for your mind to have it.
Dealing with your fears is the first way to do that 🙂
