Why You Know Everything, but Do Nothing | Confusion to Clarity #55

About a decade ago, social media had been taken over by the ‘digital nomad’ lifestyle preachers.

People talked all about this new way of minimalist living. Buying things was too old school. Consuming and owning things was a trap. Who needs to buy a home when you can live out of a backpack?

And the whole premise of the ‘digital nomad’ lifestyle was peace and freedom.

People believed that if you were bogged down by location or the work you were doing, you were essentially caged and not free enough to live life to the fullest.

Today, there are a lot more people who follow a lifestyle like that. It’s becoming common for people to take up non-traditional job roles and ways of living.

But the question is, are we really feeling that free?

We may have a job that allows us to work from anywhere, but what about the noise inside our heads that doesn’t let us sleep at 2 AM?

What about the clutter within—all the knowledge that we’ve consumed but are doing nothing about?

That’s the real mess that needs to be cleaned up.

Because once it is, we become better thinkers, decision makers, leaders, parents, friends, and people (regardless of where we live).

Everything improves when we do.

But the problem is, we’re drowning in knowledge.

Knowing Too Much…

…is a big issue.

And the reason I say that is, we’re living in a world where knowledge, information, and content are being produced at unimaginable speeds.

In 2025 alone, it’s estimated that people uploaded 263 million hours of content on YouTube.

The number of hours in all of 2025? Only 8,760.

So if you were to sit down and watch all of YouTube’s content from 2025 alone, it would take you 30,000 years of continuous watching just to go through it!

None of us can do that.

But we do as much of it as we can.

Podcasts. Videos. Posts. Books. Quotes. Ideas. Habits. Routines. And so much more infiltrates our minds every day.

This level of abundance and access is incredible and very helpful, but at the same time, if it’s not happening with awareness, we’re only drowning ourselves in the abyss and delaying the action on our dreams.

For many people, this has become a new normal. They’ll want to start something new in their lives (doesn’t matter which area it is), but they’ll think, “I probably don’t know enough.”

That’s when they’ll watch videos. Read a book or two about it. Listen to a podcast. Sign up for a course and only do it halfway. And collect so much conflicting advice that now, they are more confused than ever.

The only difference is that they’ve wasted hours in the name of ‘preparation’.

They already know more than enough to take action, but they keep saying, “I don’t know,” and they keep learning.

Do you know why? Because it’s safer and more comfortable to watch a video and pretend to be productive than to get out in the real world and fail.

That fear is the reason we know everything, but we do nothing.

Actions Are Risky…

…but learning is not.

And the funniest part is, it’s acceptable for you to do that. When you tell people about all the crazy things you’re learning, it gives a boost to your ego; it makes you feel good.

Action taking, well, that’s a whole different game.

The moment you put yourself out there or step beyond your comfort zone, you risk failing. And if you do end up failing, your ego can’t take the fall. It doesn’t feel good at all.

So, as humans are wired to do, you prioritize pleasure over pain, not knowing that the pleasures of now will turn into pain later.

The pain of a lost dream.

The pain of looking back at your New Year’s resolutions and realizing you did nothing.

The pain of having so much knowledge, but nothing to show for it.

That pain cuts deeper and stays longer.

It overwhelms us, creates self-doubt in us, and makes us fearful of the future.

“What if I start and I make a mistake?”

“What if I fail and people judge me?”

“What if I make a silly mistake which could have been easily avoided had I known that one thing?”

This scares you away from action even more. But take a moment today to ask this question instead: “What if I wake up one day and realize I spent my whole life in fear, and never really lived it?”

Something shifted with that question, didn’t it?

Now that you looked at the broader perspective, all your excuses for delaying your action-taking suddenly fell apart.

It doesn’t feel that scary anymore. And you don’t feel overwhelmed because you know you can handle it as it comes.

In 2026, make a promise to yourself: “I will prioritize action. Enough of waiting around. It’s my time to shine!”

Because you may not know it, but more than 5% of the year has already gone by.

I’m not saying this to scare you, I’m just reminding you that we have less time than we think we do.

And you don’t want to spend it just collecting information and pushing your dreams to the sidelines.

If you’re ready to change that, I have amazing news!

On 22nd January, at 7 PM IST, I am conducting a 90-minute masterclass where I’ll share with you 3 Secrets that are going to push you into the action zone and make your dreams real in 2026!

And don’t worry, this session is not about giving you more knowledge. You already have it. Instead, we are going to dive straight into the action part so that you can get unstuck, take action, and achieve big!

Usually, this is a paid session that I do for my one-on-one coaching clients. But since I’m doing it as a webinar, it’s completely free to attend, but the seats are limited.
