Success is nothing more than a few simple disciplines, practiced everyday.

-Jim Rohn

Everyone seeks success in everything that they do. If we did not seek success in our life, we would do nothing. But, in this endless pursuit that everyone takes to achieve success, how many really achieve that? The answer is – very few. Everyone wants to be and can be in the successful category, which means that you can too! But, to become successful in whatever you want, you need to take four simple steps and implement them properly, and you will truly understand what marks the difference between the successful and the unsuccessful.

Before understanding what makes the difference between the successful and the unsuccessful, we need to understand what success is. This word can have a thousand different connotations based on the context in which it is being taken. But, the single core meaning of success is unanimous for all. Success simply means quantifying and materialising your dreams and aspirations into reality in the physical world. It is as simple as that. This is what the true and single meaning of success is – bringing your dreams into your reality by working towards them. So, a doctor who dreams of being able to help people overcome their illnesses and live a wonderful life is a success. But, a top class engineer who truly wants to spread his message to the world through his paintings isn’t. The results you get and the material wealth that you accumulate in your life won’t be of any true value to you and it won’t make you feel satisfied and happy if that is not the byproduct of making your aspirations a reality…

To become successful and to make your dreams a reality, you need to follow these four steps:-

  1.  First of all, it is very important for you to have a strong foundation that will keep you grounded and stable all throughout your journey towards touching the skies. When you have the strong and stable base, you will be able to reach great heights without having to worry about falling down flat on the ground, because you are already grounded and stable! This strong foundation does not require any special concrete mixture; it just requires you to acknowledge your fundamental and concrete values. These values must not be compromised at any chance. No matter how difficult it may be to stick to these moral values, once you become habitual to sticking to these moral and concrete values, compromising them will become like breaking the law for you. Whatever your basic fundamental values may be, never ever compromise them for a short and easy way to success, because loosening and weakening your foundation will only mean that you will always fear falling flat, which will eventually happen as a weak foundation cannot sustain the responsibility that comes with success…
  2.  The second important thing that you need to realise is that you are completely unique and all your dreams and aspirations are unique to you. So, before taking up anything in life, understand the reason behind it. If you cannot find a reason, then don’t do it. You need to understand why you want to do something, because then you will be able to filter out the activities and actions of yours that don’t have a worthwhile cause, giving you the ability to work and achieve success in something that truly matters.
  3. Now, that you have already filtered out the unimportant from your life and built a strong foundation, it is time to specify and quantify the success that you want to achieve. This is the time for goal setting. You need to properly brainstorm and spend time with yourself and do this exercise. Whatever your dream is, write it down in clear and concise words, then imagine the way in which you specifically want your dream to become a reality. You need to think of it to the most precise and detailed form as possible. Forming the most vivid image will help you conceptualise and understand what is it exactly that you want to achieve and then you will fully understand what you need to do and how you need to do it. To understand the actions that you need to take and how you need to take them, you need to put in conscious effort in researching. You need to find out about the people whom you resonate the most with and who are currently at the position that you imagine yourself to be in. Understand and deeply study these people and their actions, and from modelling and understanding the steps taken by them, you will understand exactly how you should proceed. Another important thing here is that never hesitate to seek guidance and advice. Actually, being taught and coached by someone who is already a success is a wonderful gift, never miss it!
  4. Finally, you have come to the last step. This is where you take action and fully work towards achieving success. Two most important things in this part are commitment and consistency. You need to be fully committed to your dream and to the reality that you have vividly imagined for yourself. And, you need to take consistent actions. When you are consistent without fail, you are showing your belief and your commitment to yourself, which will in turn inspire you to be more consistent and committed, because this will make you believe in yourself, and that belief of being able to achieve it will again inspire you to take consistent action.

Remember, success is making your dreams a reality. Success cannot be measured by the byproduct of your actions like the money or the fame that you have earned. The true measure of success is the amount of value you have provided to yourself and the world in your path to achieving your goals, not by the money or the fame that you get…
